Blessing and Rededication of Monastery Piano
Last year, the Monastery’s custom built Schimmel grand piano was refurbished with a generous gift from oblate and Sunday Assembly member Sherri Hansen in memory of her late husband, Scott Shimanski. Join us on Sunday, June 15th, at 2:00 pm for a free concert celebrating this gift to our community. There will also be a formal dedication of the instrument by Sister Lynne Smith, OSB. These gatherings offer time for reflections, for the reading of short pieces on humility from the Rule of Benedict and other authors, an exploration of how Benedictine humility differs from our every day understandings of it, and conversations about the gifts and challenges of living this Benedictine value in our lives. These sessions are open to any adult who relates to any of the Holy Wisdom Monastery communities.
