Holy Week Silent Retreat
You are invited to attend this extended silent retreat in which retreatants will have these opportunities: to attend the Holy week liturgies with the sisters and others to participate in optional contemplative engagements (e.g. lectio divina) with the texts, liturgies and prayers of the week to rest in the freedom from social expectations to speak or otherwise be engaged to share a deep experience of the mysteries of Holy Week in a community of people seeking the same. Body movement and rhythmic dance is a natural human behavior in most of the world. Unfortunately, not all religious leaders see it that way. A 1975 Vatican advisory, “Dance in the Liturgy,” acknowledged that some non-Western cultures still retain liturgical dancing and may therefore be appropriate, but not so in the West. Wisdom Prairie Spring Tour
Join us for an experience for everyone to explore the seasonal beauty found on the monastery grounds in spring. Experienced tour guides will share the story of Caring for the Earth and help participants deepen their relationship with this land. Meet at the kiosk in the monastery building parking lot. Tours will last 1-2 hours. We will proceed with the tour in the event of light to moderate rain but cancel for thunderstorms or other severe weather.
