    Great Wisconsin Birdathon The Great Wisconsin Birdathon is Wisconsin’s largest fundraiser for bird conservation. Each year bird enthusiasts from across the state form teams with the goal of finding as many unique bird species as possible while raising important funds for bird conservation.     Enjoy the beauty and harmony of nature as bumble bee queens and butterflies forage on a hillside of wild lupine and wild indigo in the Holy Wisdom Monastery Prairie. Join Judy Cardin, Wisconsin Bumble Bee Brigade Educator, and Amy Alstad, Director of Land Management & Environmental Education, Holy Wisdom Monastery for a beautiful spring walk and talk.     Explore nature’s beauty and surprises! Kids on the Prairie is for children and their adult family members. Experienced volunteer educators and guides will facilitate a short hike to learn about nature and explore the grounds and trails. This free event is open to members of Holy Wisdom communities and the general public. May 19 – Birds & Binoculars Kids and adults are invited to look at the world through binoculars. What birds can we see? We will also learn about Eastern Bluebirds and Sandhill Cranes with two experts. Registration coming soon.

    You are invited to the Lake Superior Youth Chorus performance at Holy Wisdom Monastery on Monday, June 10 from 3:00-4:00 pm. Artistic Director & Cantemus Conductor, Bret Amundson, has visited Holy Wisdom several time with choirs and offered to perform a free concert for our communities on their way from Duluth, MN to Chicago, IL. “It’s always such a treat to perform and be with your community.” Please join us for the beautiful sounds of the Lake Superior Youth Chorus in the monastery building assembly room and consider staying after for evening prayer at 4:30 pm or hiking through the prairie. ...

Our monarch expert will show us some monarch eggs. We will use magnifiers to find interesting insects on prairie plants. Then we’ll explore the woods to find seasonal berries and learn who eats them.
