Great Wisconsin Birdathon The Great Wisconsin Birdathon is Wisconsin’s largest fundraiser for bird conservation. Each year bird enthusiasts from across the state form teams with the goal of finding as many unique bird species as possible while raising important funds for bird conservation. Enjoy the beauty and harmony of nature as bumble bee queens and butterflies forage on a hillside of wild lupine and wild indigo in the Holy Wisdom Monastery Prairie. Join Judy Cardin, Wisconsin Bumble Bee Brigade Educator, and Amy Alstad, Director of Land Management & Environmental Education, Holy Wisdom Monastery for a beautiful spring walk and talk. Explore nature’s beauty and surprises! Kids on the Prairie is for children and their adult family members. Experienced volunteer educators and guides will facilitate a short hike to learn about nature and explore the grounds and trails. This free event is open to members of Holy Wisdom communities and the general public. May 19 – Birds & Binoculars Kids and adults are invited to look at the world through binoculars. Our monarch expert will show us some monarch eggs. We will use magnifiers to find interesting insects on prairie plants. Then we’ll explore the woods to find seasonal berries and learn who eats them.
