You are invited to participate in the Spring Solar Tilt, a hands-on, inaugural community event where we gather together to celebrate solar energy, honor the changing seasons and pray for the earth. The 30-panel array can be tilted vertically or horizontally, depending on the season. Experience the seasonal beauty of Wisdom Prairie by coming out to explore the spring landscape. Knowledgeable tour guides will lead small groups on routes of varying length through the restored prairies, savannas and woodlands of Holy Wisdom Monastery. Our monarch expert will show us some monarch eggs. We will use magnifiers to find interesting insects on prairie plants. Then weโll explore the woods to find seasonal berries and learn who eats them.

Then collect seeds of some native prairie plants and learn how to plant them. Every family will take home seeds from two species.
On Sunday, September 8th from 11:00 am -1:30 pm, we will host a family-friendly volunteer opportunity in conjunction with Kids on the Prairie. We will celebrate the beauties and bounties of autumn with activities that include harvesting, sorting and pressing apples in the monastery orchard and collecting seeds from Wisdom Prairie.
