Beyond the Bloom

Nov. 5, 2025 – Feb. 3, 2026 at Holy Wisdom Monastery

Maron Massey’s exhibit of acrylic paintings on canvas at Holy Wisdom is a perfect fit with the mission of caring for the earth. “My work is inspired by nature. Some of the paintings in this exhibit reflect time spent here at the monastery.” Maron wants people to be drawn in by her color palette first and then by the image. By using all the colors found in nature, she hopes her work will take people out of their daily concerns and recall what is really important.

Artist – Maron Massey

Maron Massey is the artist whose exhibit, “Beyond the Bloom” will be featured in the Gathering Area. Maron’s work can be found throughout the Madison area. She has 14 paintings in the permanent collection at Epic, the UW purchased three for their new Eastside Clinic, and she recently completed 10 murals and 30 paintings for a downtown condominium association.

Holy Wisdom Monastery

The Benedictine sisters at Holy Wisdom Monastery sponsor art exhibits every year as part of their mission. Usually held in the spring, summer and fall, these exhibits hang in the gathering area of the LEED-certified monastery building. Selected artwork is in keeping with the monastic environment and reflects the Benedictine values of beauty, balance, simplicity, contemplation, and reverence for creation.

This year, photographer Jennifer Peters has volunteered to be the monastery’s art curator. Jennifer feels a need to help other artists gain recognition for their work. “I’ve been very fortunate with my artistic endeavors. Ever since my own photography exhibit at the monastery in 2017, I have wanted to help other artists exhibit in this beautiful space.”

Gallery Dates & Hours

The exhibit is open to the public from Nov. 5, 2025-Feb. 3, 2026.  Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm (excluding holidays) and Sunday 10:00-11:00 am.

The art gallery at Holy Wisdom is located in the gathering area in the monastery building.
